It will include hundreds of game demos and one of them is Dark and Darker. However, it seems it will not be available on Steam. The Playtest will be available during the Steam Next Fest, which is a multi-day celebration of upcoming games. Dark and Darker was supposed to be available to download and play from April 14, 2023, until April 19, 2023. Finally, you may not face the Dark and Darker Crashing issue on the PC. Once done, ensure to reboot the PC to apply changes.
Make sure to wait for some time until the update completes.
